DIY Beauty Secrets – 3 Unexpected Ways of Using Tea Bags

Hello, everyone! Lina here. 🙂

Today’s beauty secret is using something I love and use every single day: tea bags. Apart from drinking it, there are nice things you can do to help your skin and body care get more efficient and natural (which is my main purpose here).

Peppermint Tea Bags for dry, swollen & puffy eyes

I love Peppermint tea! In fact, I drink a cup of it every night before going to bed. But did you know that they also are a great option for whom has dry, swollen and puffy eyes? Well, it is. There are two ways you can use this beauty secret in your favour:

1. Warm Compress: If you are having dry and swollen eyes, soak two tea bags in hot water for some 10 minutes. After that place both tea bags, one in each closed eyelid, and press them there firmly for about 20 minutes. During this time recline your body to maintain pressure on your eyelids. This process will reduce possible inflammation and pain in your eyes from the dryness and swelling. Oh, and when those 20 minutes are over, drink that tasty tea you’ve prepared!

2. Cold Compress: This is a nice trick for who is having puffy eyes, especially on the under eye area. Boil water and soak two tea bags in it for about 2 minutes. After that, put them inside a plastic bag and let them cool in your refrigerator for about 20 minutes. Take them off the plastic bag and place them under your eyes for 10-20 minutes and voilà!

Chamomile Tea Bags for tired feet

This is a great option after a long day. Especially if your activities require keeping stand up for a really long time or wearing high heels. Pour into a bowl warm water (the warmest you can take) and 8 chamomile tea bags. Soak in your feet inside the bowl for 30 minutes. After that, you’ll feel your feet much more rested and relaxed.

Green Tea Bags for detoxing skin

This a great home spa for opening your pores, tone and moisturize your skin. Boil a few cups of water and pour it into a large bowl. Add two green tea bags. Soak a towel in the bowl and after that place it over your face for 5-10 minutes. The green tea will detox your skin, relax your mind and the antioxidants will moisturize your skin.

Hope you’ve enjoyed reading these quick, but valuable, tips! If you try any of them, comment below your experience, because I’d love to know!
